me as a hip hop hobbit, Les Prattend - mimenologist, Robots In Disguise, Le Couteau Jaune... all the stars of the show, courtesy of photographer and hella sexy dancer Flavie Guerrand. Merci! and our eyes, thanks to Lucy Sparks, with this great photo of Le Couteau Jaune and more from Eve Power here: girls rock! want a copy of +1 magazine with my interview and cover, but don't live near any stores that stock it? then get in touch with these people Stool Pigeon DJ's from 8pm Les Prattend - Milton Keynes finest mime artist about 9pm Le Couteau Jaune perform at 9:30pm Robots In Disguise live set at 10:30pm maybe some "live art" from me if I can be bothered (I'd rather dance) and it's FREE!!! arrive early. when the venue is full they won't let in any more people... oh, and some guy has some new shoes to look at or something and a big painting whatever did you say free beer? I'm there dude!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yes, finally, after a lot of set-backs, my first shoe for Vans has been released! (or will be in a week or so) it's called the "Wake Up" shoe, and it's a white leather and printed canvas Mid School model - the same shoe that Tony Alva rides! Hell yeah! Not only does my shoe look great, but it'll also be great to skate in! And they are dead comfy - I'm wearing a pair as I type! it also has sleepy tattooed toes on the insole, and a crystal clear waffle sole, through which you can see the toes and my ambigram signature (flip it upside down and it still reads the same!) my eyes/holes "logo" is embroidered on the heel (so that the shoes look at each other) and as well as pink laces you also get a yellow and an orange pair. I also designed two t-shirts to go with the shoe, designed the exterior of the box, and a fanzine/poster which is being given away free in Vans stores in London and Berlin (and possibly Barcelona) if you want a pair but don't live in any of those cities, try these websites: yeah! the latest issue of +1 magazine, the "arts" supplement of Document skateboard magazine, is now out. and it's free in UK stores! and better still, it has a seven page feature on me!!! that's one more page than Shepard Fairey gets in the same issue! oh wait, I did the cover too, so that's eight pages of Chimp-ness, for free! Hell yeah!!! if you don't live in the UK, or can't make it to a shop (hey, maybe you broke your ankle skating or something) you can't download a pdf of the whole magazine from here: as well as Shep and me, this issue also has an interview with Rich Jacobs about zines, plus the usual quality book club and cooking pages, and an interview with skater turned clothing label Keith Hufnagel. this mag is fast growing into a quality read, and the fact it's free is amazing! check it out, you'll be glad you did Archives January 2008 March 2008 April 2008 May 2008 June 2008 July 2008 August 2008 September 2008 October 2008 November 2008 December 2008 March 2009 April 2009 May 2009 June 2009 July 2009 August 2009 September 2009 October 2009 |
